Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in and
overnight.
The day will start with a city tour in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, one of the world’s
ancient cities dating back to 782 BC. Yerevan is often called “The Pink City” since most
of the buildings are designed with a pink volcanic stone called tuff. We will walk around
the center of the city and visit the Republic Square, Opera House, Swan Lake, walk
down the Northern Avenue-the coolest street of the city, climb the stairs of Cascade – a
giant stairway with works of art exhibited at all levels of the complex and admire the
enchanting panorama of Yerevan and the biblical Mount Ararat from the top of the
monument.
Thereafter, we will drive to Etchmiadzin, the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic
Church, built in 303AD after the adoption of Christianity. The monastery complex of
Etchmiadzin is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. After an excursion here, we
will enjoy a local lunch and head back to Yerevan. On our way back, we will visit the
ruins of Zvartnots, another UNESCO listed monument. Zvartnots is one of the
magnificent landmarks of medieval Armenian architecture, constructed in the 7th
century. Today even the ruins of this unique architectural structure give us the idea of
its rare and majestic beauty.
You can also visit Vernissage, , an open-air market and an exhibition displaying
different Armenian artworks and handmade items. It offers various kinds of national
souvenirs, rugs, bags, paintings, jewelry and other traditional items.
Welcome dinner will be held in a local traditional restaurant accompanied with folk
music.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will have a one-hour drive to Khor Virap Monastery, the
closest point to Mount Ararat. The name Khor Virap means “deep pit” which symbolizes
its history. The monastery was built over an underground dungeon, where Saint
Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for about 14 years by the Armenian king Trdat
for spreading Christianity in Armenia. From the beautiful monastery opens one of the
most impressive views to the biblical Mount Ararat.
Our next stop will be Noravank Monastery, a true treasure of Armenian religious art.
What makes it especially unique is that Noravank is one of the few monasteries in the
world consisting of two floors. Noravank is a must-see place not only for its cultural
importance but also for its magnificent location. The stunning architecture of the
monastery contrasts amazingly with the red rock cliffs surrounding it.
Moving on, Next, we will visit the fascinating Areni Cave, a site of great historical and
archaeological significance. Known as the location where the world’s oldest winery was
discovered, this cave offers a glimpse into ancient winemaking traditions dating back
over 6,000 years.
Afterward, we will head to Areni Winery, where you’ll experience the rich flavors of
Armenia’s exceptional wines. During the wine tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to
savor a variety of local wines, including Areni, a grape variety unique to this region
Return to Yerevan and overnight.
This day will start with an excursion to Geghard Monastery, one of the most stunning
monasteries of medieval Armenian architecture. This unique monastic complex, part
of which is carved in the rock is included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. The
monastery was named Geghardavank - the Monastery of Spear. The monastery has
unbelievable acoustics- in some places, the sound can be heard even up to 40
seconds, the mystery of which has not yet been revealed. Our next destination will
be the pagan temple of Garni, one of the most famous and important tourist
attractions of the country. The temple was constructed in the 1st century AD, by the
Armenian king Trdat I. It was dedicated to God Mihr, the Armenian pagan god of the
Sun. After an excursion here, we will enjoy a local lunch accompanied with lavash-
baking masterclass, a pure Armenian traditional bread inscribed on UNESCO’s List
of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Then we will drive to Sevan and climb
the stairs to Sevanavank Monastery, one of the most outstanding historical and
cultural sites of Armenia, located on the peninsula of the lake Sevan. The blue-eyed
beauty of Armenia lake Sevan, also called the “Blue Pearl of Armenia”, is the second
freshwater high-altitude lakes in the world, situated at an altitude of 1,900 meters
above sea level. Sometimes it seems that the water surface is about to touch the sky.
The beauty of Sevan landscapes is especially marvelous from the peninsula, thus
Sevanavank monastery has become one of the most famous tourist destinations of
the country. Continue to Dilijan, often referred to as “Armenian Switzerland” due to
its rich nature with lush green forested areas. Overnight.
Our last day in Armenia will start with the discovery of the green town Dilijan.
After a short tour in the historical part of the town we will head to Haghartsin
Monasery, one of the most mysterious places of the country located high in the
woody mountains. The monastery complex represents an amazing harmony of
architecture and nature.
Our next stop will be Mendz Er Cave, nestled in the picturesque Lori region of
Alaverdi. Here we will enjoy a unique and unforgettable lunch. Surrounded by
natural rock walls and a serene atmosphere, the cave provides a magical setting
forsavoring traditional Armenian dishes.
Having enjoyed this unique experience, we will drive back to the North of the
country and visit to the UNESCO listed monastery of Haghpat, built in the
10th century. This monastery was a major educational and spiritual center in
the Middle ages.
Continue to “Sadakhlo-Bagratashen” Georgian-Armenian border. Cross the border,
meet your guide and continue your trip to Georgia. Check-in at the hotel in Tbilisi.
Free time for rest and overnight.
Today, we will embark on a captivating city tour of Tbilisi, where we will explore:
Holy Trinity Sameba Cathedral: This magnificent cathedral, the main Georgian Christian
Orthodox church, is the largest religious building not only in Georgia but in the South
Caucasus region. Listed among the largest Orthodox churches in the world, it was
constructed between 1995 and 2004 as a "symbol of the Georgian national and spiritual
revival."
Metekhi Church (13th century): One of the most important architectural monuments
of old Tbilisi, offering a glimpse into the city's rich history.
Narikala Fortress (4th century): Dominating the Old Town with its impressive
architecture, this fortress, with its inaccessible slopes, served as the main fortification
defending the city for centuries.
Legvtakhevi (“Fig Ravine”): A picturesque area featuring a charming little bridge across
the river.
Old Sulfur Bathhouses: Known for their healing natural warm waters, these bathhouses
have been praised by numerous travelers who visited Tbilisi.
Meidan Square & Shardeni Street Neighborhood: Famous for their cozy cafes, bars,
restaurants, souvenir shops, and picture galleries.
The Bridge of Peace: A modern architectural marvel, this glass bridge is a striking
landmark in the Old Town.
Anchiskhati Basilica (6th century): One of the oldest churches in Tbilisi, with its first
foundation dating back to the 4th century, closely associated with the adoption of
Christianity in Georgia.
Today’s excursions will end with a folkshow dinner in Tbilisi. Overnight.
Drive to Mtskheta – the ancient capital of East Georgia. Visit 2 monuments included in
UNESCO world heritage list:
Jvari monastery of 6th c - the culmination of artistic and architectural aspirations in
early Georgian Christian architecture.
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral of 11th c - one of the most sacred places in whole Georgia,
with the Christ’s robe preserved in the Cathedral.
Take a break at Gudauri viewpoint. A cylinder monument with a spectacular views,
overlooking Devil’s Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.
Gudauri Viewpoint was erected by the Soviets in 1983 in the mountains of northern
Georgia. The famous Georgian architect Giorgi Chakhava designed it and placed it on a
spot offering a spectacular view over the surrounding landscape.
Drive to Gergeti mountain and iconic Gergeti Trinity church overlooked by Mt.
Kazbegi. Gergeti Holy Trinity Church is an important altar of 14th century, located on
the slope of Mount Kazbegi. The church facade preserves stone decorations depicting
ancient rituals and beliefs.
If we are lucky with weather, we will see Mount Kazbegi (5047 m. above sea level).
According to the legend Amirani – a cult hero and a prototype of Greek Prometheus,
punished by Gods was chained on the mountain.
Drive to Gudauri for overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Gori and visit J. Stalin’s house-museum located
in the town of Gori. Established in 1937 the Stalin memorial museum retains its Soviet-era
characteristics until recent days. The museum exhibits re-create scenes from the life of the
leader and include unique photos, gifts and furniture. The house where Stalin was born is
preserved under a stone canopy nearby. Museum complex consists of memorial house,
where Stalin was born, exposition building with tower and Stalin’s personal coach with
interior, by which he had travelled to Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam. Museum houses Stalin’s
personal things, study room of Kremlin, manuscripts, gifts from over the world, etc.
Next, we will head to Uplistiskhe cave town, located south-east of Gori on left bank of river
Mtkvari.
Uplistsikhe is the first settled area mentioned in manuscripts dating from 2nd millennium
BC and translates literally in English as “the fortress of God”. The town was an important
point on the trade route linking Byzantium, India and China. Nowadays archaeological
excavations uncovered several layers dating from Early Iron Age to the late Middle Ages.
Take a walk through the narrow streets carved into sandstone rock. Explore the caves, visit
several pagan temples, a King’s palace, pharmacy and an antic theatre, now frequented by
Agama lizards that took over the abandoned city.
Drive to Tbilsi. Overnight.

Visit Giuaani Winery. Giuaani Winery is located in the historic village of Manavi, the
heartland of Georgian wine production in the Caucasus region of Kakheti, where our
ancestors have produced wine for centuries. Giuaani Winery selects different grape
varietals grown in the ancient village of Manavi and then proceeds to produce wine using
both traditional and modern methods. In winery you learn about Qvevry wine production
and taste 3 variaties local wines-2 red, 1 white.
Visit Bodbe – monastic complex located near the Sighnaghi town. Bodbe monastery was
built in 9th c. and was significantly renovated in 17th c. The monastery now functions as
one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia. The female evangelist St. Nino’s relics rest in
Bodbe.
Enjoy your lunch at Manano Guesthouse in Signagi. Taste authentic Georgian cuisine

Visit Sighnaghi - ancient town also called “City of Love”, encircled by beautiful 18th c.
defensive wall. Due to its special and unique architecture and natural location Sighnaghi
is one of the most beautiful small towns in Georgia. Built 790 meters above the sea level,
it overlooks the picturesque landscape of Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains.
