When life gets too busy with daily duties – work emails piling up, back to back meetings, and the never ending noise of the city traffic – it’s a good indication that you need to stop, breathe, and escape to somewhere peaceful from the chaos of life. I was fortunate enough to take a much needed time-out from my home in Delhi, to somewhere peaceful in the form of a 6-day escape from Delhi to the incredible city-state of Singapore with an amazing cruise experience – all thanks to Fliptrip.
Fliptripholidays is an online travel company that has been designing thoughtfully created and budget-friendly packages for vacations, which made my dream of escaping internationally into an action packed adventure. The 7-day Singapore and Cruise tour was an itinerary starting at INR 74,000 per person, that promised excitement, luxury and relaxation all at once. And let me say, it gave me more than I bargained for.
If you’ve always wanted to stroll through futuristic gardens, experience world-class theme-park thrill rides, and watch the sun take its bow from a cruise-deck sunset, then come and follow along with me as I detail each incredible day of the 6 Nights and 7 Days journey of Delhi to Singapore & Cruise Tour.
Day 1: Arrival in Singapore – A Warm Welcome & Magical Night Safari
After an uneventful flight and landing at Changi International Airport, easily one of the cleanest and most impressive airports I’ve ever experienced, it was evident from the start that Fliptrip’s hospitality was head and shoulders above the rest. Upon arriving at customs, a Fliptripholidays representative welcomed me at arrivals with a lovely warm smile and welcome board. After a pleasant hotel transfer, I checked into a very clean, warm and comfortable hotel room which instantly felt familiar.
After a bit of a rest, the Night Safari was on the agenda. I had heard much about this experience, so I was looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint! A tram ride through unique habitats where we met over 900 nocturnal animals, each adapted to a different lifestyle, was amazing. Being surrounded by the sounds of crickets in the tropical forest with the landscape lit by the moon was surreal. I especially loved the majestic Malayan tigers with a horse length of distance between us.
I concluded the evening with dinner and a calm reflection on my hotel balcony. What a great way to start my adventure!
Day 2: Singapore City Tour + Sentosa Island – A Perfect Blend of Culture and Fun
After a bountiful breakfast buffet of tropical fruits, eggs, toast and local treats, I was ready for a full day of adventure.
The city tour started with Merlion Park, home of the famed statue watching the skyline. Then we drove past Raffles Hotel and the National Gallery, and made stops in Chinatown and Little India. The multiculturalism of Singapore amazed me— it is a wonderful blend of tradition and contemporary life.
Later that afternoon, we headed to Sentosa Island, the showpiece of Singapore attractions. The S.E.A. Aquarium was like a different world—I was transfixed for almost an hour, watching sharks, rays and hundreds of species swim along massive glass walls. Then came Madame Tussauds, where I happily posed with the wax replicas of Shah Rukh Khan and Queen Elizabeth. We capped the day with a leisurely boat ride, and the golden hour sunset pictures of the Singapore coastline were stunning.
By the evening, my legs were tired, but my heart was full.
Day 3: Universal Studios – Where Fantasy Comes Alive
Every moviegoer’s dream day! After having breakfast, we went to Universal Studios Singapore; as soon as I stepped in, I felt like a child, eyes wide open.
From the exhilarating Transformers 4D ride, to the jurassic themed ride in Jurassic Park and the captivating Shrek castle in ‘Far Far Away’, everything was as thrilling as I had hoped. I even managed to brave the Battlestar Galactica roller coaster, while screaming at full volume!
The food stalls were themed too; with minion shaped buns and jurassic juice. I ended the day by watching a live performance in the Hollywood Zone which really put the icing on the cake of how cinema is made.
I went back to the hotel exhausted, but exhilarated. I could hardly move, I have sore cheeks from all the smiling!
Day 4: Leisure Morning + Boarding the Genting Dream Cruise
This was the transition day—from city life to ocean bliss. After a lazy breakfast and some souvenir shopping in Bugis Street, I returned to the hotel to pack my bags and check out.
By late afternoon, I was at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, and standing before the magnificent Genting Dream Cruise was a breathtaking sight. It was massive, glittering in the sunset, with deck after deck of entertainment, food, and luxury.
Check-in was seamless, and my cabin had a balcony that opened directly to the ocean breeze. That evening, I explored the cruise—rooftop pools, cocktail lounges, a casino, spa, shopping arcades, and so much more. Dinner at the main dining hall was a gourmet buffet with multiple cuisines.
As the ship gently moved away from the Singaporean shores, I felt an emotional mix of excitement and calm. The vastness of the ocean has that effect on you.
Day 5: A Full Day at Sea – Entertainment, Dining, and Relaxation
It was the most leisurely and indulgent day of the entire trip. I woke up with the soothing sound of the ocean and birds in the distance. I had breakfast at the Lido restaurant, then checked out what otherwise was offered on the cruise.
I took a dance fitness class, had a massage at the spa with views of the ocean, and went to a cooking demo. I even tried gambling in the casino (and won ₹500, but it was fun!)
The evening entertainment at Zodiac theatre was remarkable, and I can’t really describe it. The acrobatics, the music, it was all enhanced with visual effects and was captivating. After the show I enjoyed a mocktail on the open deck while taking in the moonlit ocean, which could be romantic movie scene.
Day 6: Back to Singapore – Gardens by the Bay & Marina Bay Sands
Once off the ship I was, yet again, shuttled to a hotel that was in Singapore. Thanks to Fliptrip’s great itinerary, it made for a very easy transition.
Later on, I found myself at Gardens by the Bay; the most futuristic garden where it felt like I was walking on another planet. The Supertree Grove would light up with music, and the Cloud Forest where you walk around an indoor waterfall and rainforest was the most Instagramable place I had ever seen.
After that, we visited the top of Marina Bay Sands at the SkyPark Observation Deck that offered a 360° view of Singapore. Watching the sunset at this location was magical; as the skyline of Singapore turned gold and the city below lit up slowly.
Day 7: Farewell Singapore – The Journey Ends
I woke up early in order to enjoy the last morning of the trip. After breakfast, I packed my bags, strolled one last time near the hotel, and headed to Changi Airport for my flight back to Delhi.
Saying goodbye to Singapore felt nostalgic—not just the actual destination—but through memories of a well-planned experience enhanced by Fliptrip. Each aspect was designed with consideration, delivered at the appropriate time and with personal attention.
